Clarissa Ricci

Clarissa Ricci is adjunct professor at the University of Bologna. Her research focuses on the history of exhibitions, biennials, fairs, and art market. She was a recipient of the Getty/ACLS Postdoctoral Fellowship in the History of Art (2019–2020). She was entrusted by Iuav University in Venice with researching the foundation of Arte Fiera (2017–2019). She has written numerous essays such as “To sell or not to sell? Attempts at reopening Venice Biennale’s sales office” (Journal of Modern Italian Studies 2021). Among others she was editor of Starting from Venice: Studies on the Biennale (2011) and Double Trouble in Exhibiting Contemporary Art: Fairs and Shows, and published entries for Grove Art Dictionary (2018), Bloomsbury Art Market (2023) and Art Market Dictionary (2024).
