Professor Jo Beall FAcSS FRSA

Jo is Emeritus Professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science, Distinguished Policy Fellow in LSE Cities, and former Director of Education and Cultural Engagement at the British Council.

Jo’s academic and professional career began at the LSE, included a period as Deputy Vice Chancellor at the University of Cape Town and eight years as Director of Education and Cultural Engagement at the British Council. Her interests include international development, cultural relations and higher education and cities in a changing world. She was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Open University and is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences.
